The success of surfing is confirmed year after year.
In France alone, the number of aquasurfers has increased from 450,000 in 2012 to 680,000 today, according to a study by the International Surfing Association (ISA).
Problem, the courses fill up months in advance, the waiting lists are getting longer in the surf schools of the Aquitaine Coast, for example, and it becomes complicated to find availability in the middle of August, epicenter of summer vacation.
Not to mention the establishment of quotas by town halls for the number of schools authorized to exercise, places are becoming expensive.

Louis Demessine, surf instructor in La Ciotat and Cap Ferret and Laure Matarese, director of a communication agency, each with their own problems, the first to manage his school and the second as a client of surf lessons, had the idea of creating the Surfnow platform, to remedy the problem.
“I have a family, we are all surfing fans.
Every summer, I spend an insane amount of time calling one school after another to find room in the classes
,” explains Laura.
On the instructor side, Louis complains about the time wasted with the logistics of the course schedule.

This platform aims to save everyone time.
Its use is relatively simple for the surfer.
All you have to do is choose your destination or geolocate yourself.
The nearest schools with course availability are displayed.
There are several options to choose from depending on your profile: private, group, beginner, advanced, family lessons... With a simple click, you reserve your session, which you can pay for by secure payment.
"Save the date" messages are sent automatically to remind you of the days and times of the reservations, the name of the instructor, the place of the meeting and even practical information for parking as close as possible.
In the event of a program change due to the weather, you are immediately notified.

In addition to booking lessons, the platform also wants to be a place of virtual exchange for its community and has posted a blog with advice on safety in the waves, the choice of equipment, the weather... Everything is made to make life easier for future surfer apprentices.
Launched on June 1, it has about twenty members.
The potential is enormous, one hundred and thirty schools are labeled by the French surfing federation throughout the territory.
Surfnow is already looking far ahead with international development ambitions with projects in Bali, Portugal and Costa Rica.
Soon, it will be possible to book a surf lesson on the other side of the world in just a few clicks.
