After his defeat in the vote for the presidency of the left, the member of the Bundestag Sören Pellmann takes the new leadership to court.
"Personal commitment is trampled on here," he told SPIEGEL on the fringes of the party conference in Erfurt.
He misses a real dialogue between the camps of the party, so far the new chairmen have not sought to talk to him.
Pellmann had applied for a post in the party's dual leadership, but received just under 32 percent of the delegate votes.
The European politician Martin Schirdewan was elected with a clear majority and will form the party leadership together with Janine Wissler.
The Saxon MP is considered a follower of the former parliamentary group leader Sahra Wagenknecht, but had recently resisted such "stamps".
The grouping, known within the party as “Wagenknechte”, was unable to assert itself in the board elections, and its amendment to the party’s Russia policy was also rejected on Saturday.
Pellmann wants to think about "personal consequences".
"This is not a departure," said Pellmann about the party congress.
The currents in the party were not appreciated enough.
He now wants to use his defeat to think about "personal consequences" and his "further involvement in the party" in the next 14 days.
Pellmann got the third direct mandate for the left in Leipzig last fall - and thus saved his party in the Bundestag.
The left only moved in again because it had won three direct mandates, although it missed the five percent hurdle nationwide.
However, Pellmann largely ruled out withdrawing from the Bundestag, saying that would not be fair to the people who elected him.
The left is still meeting in Erfurt until Sunday afternoon, the party congress is supposed to be a new start for the crisis-ridden party.
In addition to a re-election of the entire party leadership, the comrades are arguing about their future course and their position in the Ukraine war and how they deal with sexism in their own party.
