The Director-General of the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands (ACSAD), Dr. Nasr El-Din El-Obeid, discussed with the President of the Federation of Chambers of Agriculture, Muhammad Kashto, effective ways to support and disseminate aromatic and medicinal plants in Syria and coordination mechanisms for the establishment of a specialized conference in this regard under the title (Green Investment).
Al-Obaid expressed ACSAD's readiness to provide support and assistance to prepare and organize this conference to embody this conference on the ground and work for its success, stressing that ACSAD's Arab and local experts are ready to put their expertise in the service of this agriculture in the headquarter country, Syria.
In turn, Kishto indicated the chambers' readiness to increase and develop cooperation to achieve sufficiency and export the surplus from this promising agriculture, pointing out that ACSAD has been and still encourages initiatives and projects that advance agriculture in Syria and all Arab countries.
The Medicinal and Aromatic Agriculture Conference, which is expected to be held in the coming months, aims to raise awareness of the need to promote this cultivation in Syria and to frame it legally and technically to transform it from marginal traditional cultivation to economic cultivation that constitutes a source of income for families with small holdings.
