This evening, on the stage of the Palace of Culture in the city of Suwayda, the celebration of World Music Day concluded with a concert performed by the “Sheraa” band, led by the artist Basman Harb.
The band started the concert with oriental music performed by the musicians Basman Harb, Hussein Harb, Anad Abu Zaki on violin, Nawras Abu Asali on the accordion, Venus Naim on the oud, Wael Abu Hamdan on bass guitar, Fadi Shway on the flute, Anwar Jarboa on the qanun and Iyas Shehayeb on the qa’a.
The band presented a group of songs performed by Shorouk Salha, Basel Abu Saada and Lyn Korkmaz, in addition to a link to playing classical music solo on the violin by the player Firas Harb.
The artist Harb pointed out, in a statement to SANA reporter, that what Syria enjoys in the field of music and art made it have an Arab and international presence, which puts them as composers, musicians and trainers responsible for always presenting the best and working to develop oriental music.
The activities of the celebration of World Music Day, organized by the National Theater in As-Suwayda and the Directorate of Theaters and Music in the city of As-Suwayda, started last Tuesday and lasted for six days. The ceremony, the results of which will be announced later.
