The end of the constitutionality of abortion decided on Friday by the American Supreme Court has given back to the fifty states of the union the right to legislate as they see fit on this practice.
A new legal map of the United States immediately appeared, drawing a deep divide across the country.
A number of Republican-majority states announced measures on Friday suspending access to abortion, and announced new legislation aimed at restricting it or banning it altogether.
Democratic states have also quickly responded with executive orders affirming free access to abortion, and preventing providers and patients from being sued by other states.
