A burning corpse was found in Hamm (North Rhine-Westphalia).
It is believed to be a missing girl.
Now there is the first arrest.
Update from June 25, 4:20 p.m .:
After finding the burned body of a 17-year-old, the police in Dortmund arrested the 26-year-old ex-boyfriend of the young people.
According to a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office on Saturday, various indicators that cannot yet be discussed led the investigators to him.
The couple are said to have split a week before the 17-year-old's disappearance.
Her parents reported her missing on June 14.
The 26-year-old was questioned as a witness after the teenager's disappearance, but he was surprised by his arrest.
The public prosecutor's office has applied for an arrest warrant against him on suspicion of manslaughter.
He was due to appear before a magistrate on Saturday.
The police are now also specific about the cause of death.
Accordingly, the autopsy of the corpse showed that the young woman had not died from the flames, but from "massive violence against the neck".

According to the local police, the cyclist found the body, which was said to have been burning at the time, around 5:30 a.m. on a path near the central dam in the "Im Tibaum" nature reserve.
Frightening images released in the media after the horror find show the site covered in ash and confirm that something horrific happened there.
As the public prosecutor Hagen further informed, the cause of death was not the fire - the victim was already dead. "We assume that she had been dead for several days and that the body was only burned there to remove traces," confirmed the spokesman for the public prosecutor.

After the victim could not initially be identified, recent investigations have now led to a staggering result.
According to a joint press release by the police and the public prosecutor, the burned dead woman is said to be a 17-year-old who has been missing since Tuesday.
The Hagen police have set up a murder commission for the ongoing investigation and also ask you to report any information or observations by calling 02331 - 986 2066.
