With the advent of the summer vacation, and with the aim of spreading culture and a love of reading and developing children’s creative abilities, the Arab Cultural Center in Ain al-Sharqiya, in the Lattakia countryside, in cooperation with the “Ehkeli Tell Me” volunteer group for children, set up an interactive workshop for children and adolescents.
The workshop included reciting poems, a book session, storytelling, sports and artistic dances.
Writer Hind Haidar, founder of the group, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the workshop was attended by children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 16 from the countryside of Jableh and Latakia, and aims to introduce the child to the importance of reading and teach him how to choose a book, read it and how to write a story.
For his part, the head of the Arab Cultural Center in Ain Al Sharqiya, Milad Hassan, considered that the workshop, which will be held every Sunday of every week for two hours, contributes to building the positive personality of the child, his self-esteem and acceptance of the other, and developing his creative sense, which would fill his spare time during the summer vacation with useful things.
At the end of the workshop, certificates of encouragement were distributed to the participating children.
