Sachsenkam – The municipal council of Sachsenkam recently unanimously approved the 2022 budget, which differs significantly from those of previous years.

In the two previous years, in view of the corona pandemic, some things had not been carried out or had been left undone.

“So there is a lot more to do now.

2022 will be a very demanding year with many expenses, but this will not result in any imbalances," Sachsenkam Mayor Andreas Rammler promised the municipal council in view of the special situation.

Top up the reserve again in 2023

In order to be able to cope with the above-average expenses that are now pending, the municipality will clear most of its financial reserves of 2.274 million euros this year, with the exception of a remainder of 318,000 euros.

The planned acquisition of building plots also played a key role in this.

However, with this budget title, the mayor is firmly assuming that in 2023 sales proceeds of this and other properties to local builders can again generate proceeds of 1.060 million euros.

In the case of broadband expansion, for example, 80 percent of the costs will flow back to the municipality via state subsidies with a time lag.

In this way, the municipality will be able to top up its sharply reduced reserve by EUR 952,000 in 2023;

by 2025 it should even have reached its level again at the end of 2020.

In any case, it will not be necessary to take out another new loan this year.

Higher costs for local sewerage

On the contrary: the municipality itself even grants a loan to the Sachsenkam municipal works, where higher costs for the local sewage system are pending this year.

In addition to acquiring land, the municipality will invest in its water supply and road construction, in equipping its building yard and in improving internet access.

The figures of the small rural community decided by the budget statute have a total volume of 6.949 million euros this year in terms of income and expenditure.

Of this, 4.038 million euros are accounted for by the administrative budget and 2.911 million euros by the property budget.

In the administrative budget, which reflects the running costs, the allocations to the district and to the administrative community with the neighboring municipalities are particularly important (see box), but also the school association allocations in Reichersbeuern (172,000 euros) and Gaißach with 10,500 euros.

The budget in figures

Tax revenue: 2.146 million euros

Trade tax: 550,000 euros District levy

The Sachsenkammern also hold dear the new day-care center that went into operation three years ago, but is still running a high deficit: with forecast total expenditure of 1.331 million euros - this includes around 837,000 euros for personnel costs including insurance contributions and 294,000 euros for necessary imputed costs Costs – the sum of all income is only 702,600 euros;

They include public grants of 520,000 euros as well as 120,000 euros in kindergarten fees and 41,000 euros in meal allowances from parents.

The bottom line is that this year there is a calculated deficit of 628,200 euros.

And the agricultural and forestry businesses, house and landowners as well as tradespeople in the village can adjust to these burdens: the municipal council kept the municipal tax rates unchanged;

for property taxes A and B, each with 310 percentage points, and for trade tax, also with 310 percentage points.
