Horrifying everyday life for many cat owners: their cats bring dead to half-alive animals home with them.

But they are not gifts.

Munich – Anyone who has an outdoor cat at home knows that it never gets boring with her.

After all, with her adventures in the garden or around the house, she brings a lot of joy to young and old.

Less, however, if she does not come home for days or is very keen on hunting.

It's nice when a house cat can live out its hunting and play instincts, but it can have unpleasant consequences for cat owners.

After all, it's not a particularly pretty sight when you step out of the front door in the morning and find a bitten body of a mouse on the doormat.

Or even worse: when the little rodent is placed half alive in the middle of the bed as a souvenir.

However, many have given up the habit of scolding their cat.

After all, one hears again and again that it should be a gift for the owner.

If you are rude with the velvet paw, she is offended.

That's why many cat owners quietly dispose of the night's grisly hunting remains.

But is all of this really true?

Experts have now investigated the matter and come to an amazing conclusion.

Hunting is part of cat nature and should not be denied.

Nevertheless, cat lovers shouldn't pretend that it's a nice touch or that it's even intended for them.

The dead bird on the kitchen floor is obviously not an "offering" for the master of the house.

The animal behavior has a completely different reason: the self-confident house tigers, on the other hand, want to teach us how to hunt in this way!

This gesture is actually quite cute: the velvet paws see this ability as vital, since it is used to obtain food.

In addition, it is purely instinctive to provide for possible offspring.

For this reason, behavioral researchers have discovered that cats hunt a lot when they have young.

And the older the offspring get, the more prey they get that is still alive.

For the simple reason that the little ones have to theoretically learn how to catch and kill prey themselves one day.

But instead of the potential offspring, the house tiger wants to teach us that so that we can take care of ourselves.

So it's a caring gesture from your cat and you shouldn't punish her for it.

She means well with you!
