(ANSA) - SALERNO, June 26 - The body of the podista FG, 47, from Salerno, was found, whose traces had been lost during the last phase of the Trail of the Ebolitani Mountains, in an inaccessible area of Salerno near Eboli .
The man's searches went on all night and soon the body was spotted at the end of a slope, in locality Ernice, in an area where the event regulations recommended caution.
The runner slipped for a hundred meters and died following the fall.
The body was found by the technicians of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Campania together with the volunteers of the Mountain Rescue Dedalo of Giffoni Valle Piana (Salerno).
After having received the authorization from the competent magistrate for the removal of the body, recovery operations began by the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Campania.
The Eboli Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade and the Eboli Carabinieri also participated in the operations.
