Nearly forty years after the launch of his first poetic works, the Artists Syndicate in Damascus hosted the signing of the second poetry collection by artist and poet Hisham Kafarneh, entitled “And Judge Me by What You Will,” issued by Canaan House for Studies and Publishing.

Kafarneh explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the second poetry collection is a cumulative case he wrote during these long years, as some poems seem to have different topics in proportion to the life developments that occurred in his personal and social experience and inspired them between celibacy, marriage and fatherhood, referring to the suffering and crises that the country has gone through. On his poems and preserving the weighted activation poetry of the classic vertical poem.

The author of many theatrical works, writing, acting and directing, pointed out that receiving the poem's topics is easy for the reader to avoid drowning in the symbolism that he resorted to in his first poetry collection, which was the product of a state of adventure and daring.

As for the title, Kafarneh linked it to a mystical state of love and passion that turns man into fuel to reach the meeting despite all the rulings between lovers, pointing out that poetry is a unique and subjective art that creates a vast and broad-minded world and gives life beauty and pushes man to contemplate to reformulate reality and transcend it no matter what. bitter.

For his part, the head of the Artists Syndicate, Mohsen Ghazi, said that art in all its forms is an exceptional creativity owned by the artist and poet Kafarneh, in addition to his talent in plastic art since his studies at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, stressing that the union’s duty is through the plan set by the celebration of creators in all artistic, musical and literary fields.

Ghazi pointed out that the Syndicate is taking firm steps towards achieving a creative project that was opened through the quintet of Arabic music, in addition to the social project represented by visiting artists to honor and celebrate them. Patriotism and the revival of theater days that will soon see the light.
