The first Forest Games Festival on Blomberg is just around the corner.

From 1st to 10th July there is a varied program here.

Bad Tölz/Wackersberg

– Open-air cinema, concerts, yoga, Pilates and Zumba courses, hikes, hands-on activities and much more awaits visitors at the first Forest Games Festival on Blomberg.

From 1st to 10th July there is a full program on Tölz's local mountain.

Originally, only a three-day festival was assumed, "but with the many ideas that came up, it quickly became clear that we needed more days," said the deputy spa director Susanne Frey-Allgaier on Thursday at a press conference.

As always, she found a committed comrade-in-arms in Blomberg coordinator Manuel Wilke.

"No matter what ideas we come up with, he always says: We'll manage it," said Frey-Allgaier.

Festival extended from three to ten days

The offer should be as broad as possible, appealing to both children and adults, explained Romy Brandl from the tourism department.

For some courses and workshops you have to pay a participation fee, others are free - for example telling fairy tales under the whispering umbrella, the tour of the discovery path, hiking meditation or even natural Pilates.

Activities are always at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Blomberg mascot Oachkatzl Edi will be there live at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Admission is also free for the three concerts.

Mayor Ingo Mehner is concerned about this.

"We don't just want to offer culture to those who can afford it." On July 1, "Oimara" Beni Hafner will play with the band at the Blomberghaus.

On July 8th, "The Heimatdamisch" will be coming up the mountain with their Oberkrainer cover versions of well-known rock and pop hits.

Both concerts start at 7 p.m.

The Blomberghaus takes care of the hospitality.

"Wackersberger fire brigade and Tölzer mountain rescue service take care of safety," said Wilke.

"Die Reiwas" will play at the valley station on July 10th at 10:30 a.m., ringing in the last day of the festival.

“They are currently on a trailer tour in Upper Bavaria with a trailer that has been converted into a mini stage.

That fits perfectly,” said Frey-Allgaier.

Entry to the open-air cinema, which is being set up near the valley station, costs ten euros.

The visitors sit on the slope - "with a beautiful view of the Buchberg", promises Wilke.

From 7 p.m. the hospitality starts at the Blombergtenne.

When it's dark enough at 9:45 p.m., the films start.

"And of course there's popcorn," says Frey-Allgaier.

You can see "Kaiserschmarrndrama" (July 6th), "Pretty Woman" (July 7th), the new program of the "Alpen-Film-Festival" (July 8th) and "Beckenrand Sheriff" (July 9th).

On July 10, the cinema will move up the mountain again: At 9:45 p.m., “Bayerische Alpen – Bergheimat”, a film by and with Bernd Ritschel, will be shown.

Admission is free here.

If the weather is bad, they go to the Kurhaus - but only for this film.

There are alternative dates for the others.

Photographer Ritschel, who is also an ambassador for the district campaign “Conservation begins with you”, fits in well with the festival concept.

Because the interests of nature conservation should also be conveyed to the visitors.

For example, on July 10, area supervisors and rangers will be on site to provide interesting information about flora and fauna, alpine farming and much more.

There are information huts so that you can keep track of all the offers.

And if you need a bit of relaxation after all the action, you can relax in one of the hammocks or order a drink at the tree cocktail bar at the climbing forest.
