G7 summit 2022 in Elmau: From security policy to Nordic walking - that's on today's schedule

The 2022 G7 summit begins on Sunday in Elmau.
According to the schedule of the first day, foreign and security policy as well as the global economy will be discussed.
But Nordic walking is also on the agenda.
Elmau - At the 2022 G7 summit in Elmau, there are more serious crises to be solved than ever before.
It's about the climate crisis, the Ukraine war, food security and the corona pandemic.
There are only three days scheduled for all of this.

Talks on the global economy, infrastructure, and foreign and security policy are already planned for the first day of the 2022 G7 summit in Elmau.
After the reception at Schloss Elmau, the first working session begins at 12:30 p.m.
In addition to the seven heads of government, two representatives of the European Union will also be sitting at the table at the G7 summit: the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

G7 summit 2022 in Elmau: This is what the partners of the G7 heads of state and government are doing today
While the heads of state and government of Germany, the USA, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and the United Kingdom are conferring, a program is also being arranged for their partners.
On Sunday, Britta Ernst, Amélie Derbaudrenghien and the other partners will go Nordic walking, among other things.
Also present are the former biathlete Miriam Neureuther and the slalom world cup winner and ski star Christian Neureuther.
US First Lady Jill Biden will not be there this year.
Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also traveled to Bavaria without their wives.
For Britta Ernst, the wife of Chancellor Olaf Scholz, it is Sunday's first major appearance as First Lady.

G7 summit 2022 in Elmau: These demonstrations are planned
There were already protests in the run-up to the G7 summit in Elmau.
A large-scale demonstration was planned for Saturday in Munich, to which 20,000 participants were expected - but only about 4,000 actually came. From 10:00 p.m. a protest action at the ski jump in Garmisch-Partenkirchen attracted attention.
Further protests are also planned for Sunday, the first day of the summit, including a large demonstration in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
