Journalists from all over the world traveled to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the G7 summit in Elmau.

They told our editors how they feel about the work on site.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – What is the first impression of the summit location of Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the international media representatives?

What results do you expect from the meeting of the heads of state from the seven most important industrial nations in the western world?

Our colleague Katharina Brumbauer asked around at the International Media Center on Hausberg.

G7 summit 2022 in Elmau: survey in the media center with international journalists

Andrea Bonini,

Sky TG 24

, Italy: “Garmisch-Partenkirchen is very, very beautiful.

The transport from the journalists who live outside here to the media center is still a problem.

The buses don't work very well.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the summit.

We'll have to wait and see what comes out of the meeting."

Harmony Pondy Nyaga,

La Chanel Info

, France: “Working in these huge tents surrounded by nature is very impressive.

We have also been allowed to take a helicopter flight.

I hope President Macron will also address issues affecting French domestic politics at the summit.

He just lost a general election, he has to go on the offensive.”

International journalists report on local work

Brian Platt,

Blooomberg

, Canada: “We arrived Sunday morning and then drove straight here to the media center to work.

We haven't even checked into the hotel yet, so haven't seen much either.

The big challenge for the G7 will be to agree on how best to support Ukraine and confront Russia.”

Tatsuo Watanabe, freelance journalist, Japan: “We arrived three days before the start of the summit, we had a lot of fun here in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, especially in the evenings.

On the other hand, the heads of state are under pressure: I hope that they will act, that we will come closer to peace in Ukraine.

But that is only a hope.”
