A variety of artistic performances of music and handicrafts were included in the event, which was held under the title “Together for a Better Future” in Tartous Central Prison.

The event included musical performances and patriotic songs from training and introducing prison inmates, in addition to an exhibition of handicrafts produced by them.

Brigadier General Musa Hasoud Al-Jassem, Police Commander of Tartous Governorate, pointed out in a statement to reporters that the event falls within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's interest in prison inmates and its cooperation in this end with the Ministry of Culture to integrate them into society by teaching them many professions and crafts inside the prison so that they can work later and provide them with a financial return. after they get out of it.

In turn, Colonel Ayser Abu Fakher, director of Tartous Central Prison, indicated that the event witnessed the distribution of certificates of appreciation and literacy certificates to the inmates who underwent a course in this regard, with the distribution of the first issue of “Al-Wall Magazine” and included political, literary and artistic articles and an introduction to the activities held inside the prison, including exhibitions and educational and professional courses .

Kamal Badran, Director of Culture, stated that this event, which falls within the celebration of the fourth Tartous Musical Forum, aims to emphasize that the prison is a center for reform and awareness, and in implementation of the agreement signed between the Ministries of Interior and Culture, according to which he created cultural centers inside prisons to establish educational and educational activities and events for them.

For their part, a number of inmates noted the importance of transforming this place into a center for awareness, training and education for professions, in addition to literacy courses and a number of foreign languages ​​to teach the inmate what benefits him and what achieves social and material stability, as well as working on refining his behavior and transforming his interest into useful and beneficial work for him and the community. .

The event was attended by a number of official figures, some Islamic and Christian clerics, and a number of directors of government institutions in the governorate.
