Assistant Minister of the Interior of the Lugansk People's Republic Vitaly Kiselev confirmed that foreign mercenaries, including Americans, are trapped in the city of Lysekhansk and are trying to escape through small groups to the Pavlograd region.

TASS news agency quoted Kiselev as saying that "there are Polish, 37 British, 21 French and 64 American mercenaries in Lysekhansk alone, who are trying to escape towards the west of the country, noting that this information was received by intelligence from the local population."

Kiselev pointed out that there are about 12,000 members of the armed formations of the regime forces in Kyiv who are stationed in Lyschansk.

For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on Western countries to respond to Moscow's questions about the activities of its mercenaries in Ukraine.

In addition, the ambassador of the Lugansk People's Republic to Russia, Rodion Miroshnik, announced the surrender of about 70 Ukrainian soldiers at the Azot Industrial Plant complex in Severodonetsk.

"A large number of militants were killed during the confrontations, while some tried to cross the Seversky Donets River under the guise of civilians, while others managed to escape," Miroshnik said.

"The clearing of the city of Severodonetsk has been achieved, and the main result is the liberation of the left side of the Seversky Donets," he reported.
