The Speaker of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, reiterated that Russia is open to negotiations with Ukraine, but that Moscow's conditions must be accepted.
Matvienko said in an interview with the Belarusian "STV" channel: Russia is ready for negotiations today, but not in a showy manner, but rather the conditions that we set clearly and precisely must be accepted.
Matvienko noted that the West was not interested in Russia's negotiations with Ukraine from the beginning, although Moscow did not leave it.
Earlier today, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the West is doing everything possible to ensure that the crisis in Ukraine continues for as long as possible, noting that Western countries are using Ukraine as a tool.
