Last week, Hervé Morin, president (NC) of the Normandy region, David Margueritte, president (LR) of the Cotentin agglomeration, Benoît Arrivé, mayor (PS) of Cherbourg, or even Anna Pic, his new deputy elected under the Nupes banner, indeed went to promote the Cotentin to the Irish political authorities, but also to private actors.

This was one of the good surprises of Brexit for Normandy: freight traffic between Ireland and Cherbourg went from 35,000 trailers to 100,000 per year, while the number of rotations was multiplied by three.
That's now a dozen a week.
The delegation therefore met with Irish maritime transport players to strengthen this post-Brexit dynamic.
But also to promote the Normandy peninsula as a privileged economic and tourist partner.
Finally, the delegation presented a linguistic tourism offer in the Cotentin for businesses, students and Irish teachers.
For his part, Hervé Morin took the opportunity to launch a Normandy mission alongside Vincent Guérend, the French ambassador to Ireland.
