Opinion | Political Orphans Israel today

2022-06-26T06:01:44.055Z

Many tell me that the natural step is to vote for the Likud, but "Rak Bibi" is not much better than "Rak La Bibi" in my opinion.

I have lived in Samaria all my life, but I am homeless.

My blue ID card fails to make up for the political orphanhood I have unwittingly fallen into in recent years.

I have always been interested in politics.

The MURK running in the family is that in the '96 election, when I was two years old and a bit older, I sat at the ballot box in Ma'ale Shomron and convinced the residents to vote for the Likud led by Netanyahu. This is the tragedy of my generation. Burning the disengagement and the vote of many right-wing MKs in its favor.

We are the generation that is left orphaned, the generation that instead of talking to about ideology we talk to about psychology, as if we are unable to contain more complex attitudes and ideas than Bibi soup or just not Bibi.

And in recent years it has intensified.

I, who joined the Betar youth movement at the age of 6, demonstrated with her against the release of terrorists and educated children and teenagers to love the country, feeling a stranger in my country.

My generation, which is so interested in politics, is left with no choice but to vote for.

My left-wing generation could once count on Meretz to advance their values, but the party's Zionism is beginning to be questioned on the one hand, and its members are voting in favor of extending Judea and Samaria regulations on the other, only in the name of "just not Bibi."

The right-wing generation relied on the right and a new hope that represented them faithfully, but these chose to sit in the same coalition with RAAM - whose members were documented countless times as critical of murderers of Jews, too, only in the name of the "no Bibi."

Many tell me that the natural step in such a situation is to vote for the Likud, but "only Bibi" is not much better than "only not Bibi" in my eyes.

I will not be able to vote for a party that, in the name of preserving the power of its head, is voting to deprive me, an Israeli citizen living in Samaria, of its equal status in the State of Israel.

Politicians need to understand that they are supposed to serve us, not us, they are not the issue here.

Instead of casting politicians as if they were reality stars, party leaders and politicians should be the ones who can do the most for us.

Netanyahu is a huge statesman who has achieved extraordinary things, but that is not the issue either.

Their job is to fight for our voice, but they underestimate our abilities and understanding as they choose, time and time again, to focus on the personalities of the leaders rather than what they have to offer us.

It's very simple - when I'm in a traffic jam on the way to work, the quarrel between Michael Bitton and Merav Michaeli does not interest me as much as the delay in the important meeting, and when I pay a fortune for fruits and vegetables, Oded Forer's struggle in the agricultural lobby does not interest me as much as import.

You know what?

We may be really spoiled, but it's our right.

We are the future of this country, those who live and die for it, and to whom it belongs.

We are tired of politicians closing accounts and submitting the bill to us.

We are the most important thing in the country, and we deserve to be treated accordingly.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
