Regional train in Munich overcrowded because of a nine-euro ticket: two passengers resist eviction

A regional train from Munich to Regensburg had to be cleared overnight from Saturday to Sunday due to overcrowding.

A 44-year-old and a 40-year-old are said to have defied the officials at Munich Central Station several times, the federal police said.

Deutsche Bahn asked for help with the evacuation during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

The police assume that the train was overcrowded because of the nine-euro ticket.

According to the officials, the two passengers refused to leave their seats and are said to have behaved aggressively.

The two passengers were then taken off the train by police officers.

The 44-year-old kicked an officer in the shin and insulted her.

The man and woman were taken to the station.

There she continued to insult officers in Russian, which was transcribed by a Russian-speaking police officer.

The woman filmed the officers with her mobile phone and claims to have uploaded the video to the Instagram platform.

The police then took away her mobile phone in consultation with the public prosecutor's office.

The blood test showed that the 40-year-old had a level of 1.3 per thousand.

Both rioters were then released.

The woman is being investigated for, among other things, resistance and physical assault against law enforcement officials and a violation of the Art and Copyright Act.

According to police, no one was injured in the incident.

Even before the start of the nine-euro ticket, warnings had been given of overcrowding on trains and sometimes chaotic conditions.

There was also some confusion about the validity of the discounted monthly ticket.

If you don't look at the "small print" when choosing regional trains, you could dodge fare.
