Today, the second batch of humanitarian aid provided by the Republic of Belarus, which included 6 MAZ transport trucks, arrived in Latakia Governorate.

The Governor of Lattakia, Engineer Amer Ismail Hilal, confirmed after the ceremony of receiving the shipment that this aid is the second of its kind and comes within the framework of the strong relations that unite the two friendly countries in various fields.

Governor Hilal expressed his thanks and appreciation to the government and people of Belarus for their continuous support to the Syrian people, pointing out the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in the interest of the two friendly peoples and countries.

For his part, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Damascus, Yuri Sluka, indicated that his country has an old and historical friendship with Syria, and it continues to provide aid that contributes to the reconstruction of Syria.

The Belarusian ambassador pointed out that his country stood by Syria during the difficult times it went through and continued to provide humanitarian aid of various types represented in medicine, foodstuffs and machinery.

The receipt of the aid was attended by the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Mary Al-Tali.

Last November, Syria received a shipment of humanitarian aid provided by the Republic of Belarus, including medical preparations, electrical transformers and foodstuffs.
