The Constitution, Law and Justice Committee is currently (Sunday) discussing the defendant's law and the law for the dissolution of the Knesset.
The committee, headed by MK Gilad Karib, will discuss the defendant's law, which means preventing a criminal accused of forming a government.
During the debate, a heated debate arose between MKs Eli Avidar (Yisrael Beiteinu) and MK Shlomo Karai (Likud). MK Avidar said: "This debate is theoretical and it is a pity that it is theoretical. It is unfortunate that it comes at the last minute. ".
MK Shlomo Qarai reacted angrily: "Do you know what the difference is?
I will be here in the next Knesset and you will be in the dustbin of history.
You're a loafer. '
MK Avidar replied: "You are a cheeky piece. A babysitter that is worth nothing."
The right removed the veto, but the schedule is tight
The law is aimed primarily against Benjamin Netanyahu, with the aim of preventing him from forming a government in the 25th Knesset after the election, if he receives the mandate from the president.

The defendant's law did not go to the polls for an entire year in which the current government served, following the veto imposed by a right-wing party on the law (the veto was given to Naftali Bennett's party in the coalition agreements).
Now that the Knesset is expected to dissolve this week, the right-wing party has removed the veto and approved putting the defendant's law to the vote.
However, since the procedure is relatively long, it does not appear that the coalition will have enough time until the dissolution of the Knesset to pass the defendant's law.
It seems that the purpose of bringing the law up for discussion in the Constitution Committee is to prevent the opposition from delaying the law to dissolve the Knesset, since if it is delayed, there will be more time to allow the passage of the defendant's law.
