The project:

Space:

150 sq.m. + balcony 125 sq.m.

Tenants:

Couple

Planning and interior design:

Keren Gens

in an old residential complex in Herzliya And their three daughters.

The years passed, the warm ones moved to live above, the girls blossomed from the nest but stayed close, and the couple who became young grandparents decided to stay in the same apartment but renovate it from A to Z.

From interior designer Keren Gens, they asked to sew the apartment logo exactly according to their current lifestyle so that you would serve them faithfully in the new episode.

Gens created an unoccupied home for them and alongside details and combinations created a fine harmony.

Here's how to do it right: How to look for a job in the new world of employment?

The change starts from here.

The design component was significant, but a lot of resources were invested in the design context as well.

Gens was asked to instill in the house a sense of openness and warmth, along with a polished and up-to-date that will last a long time, to create a connecting thread from the moment you enter the house to the last detail.

A major decision was to choose materials and items that the couple had met throughout their lives and always dreamed of, with warm and unconventional color combinations and materials.

The heart of the house is also the heart of change - the kitchen.

The couple's lives are characterized by frequent family meals, cooking together and an extended family that grows and spends a lot of time together at home, with the mothers-in-law and daughters living around them.

The highlight.

The original beech wood kitchen, surrounded by tall H-shaped cabinets, with a delimiting wall between the living room and kitchen and an enclosed balcony that served as a study, opened.

In their place, a spacious kitchen was designed that contains a lot of storage and a large refrigerator 1.4 m wide.

The front of the tall cabinets is made of natural oak, in the hidden side wall a partially open surface has been designed for a coffee corner and heavy appliances available for work.

On the back of this façade there is a hidden pantry containing large floor-to-ceiling cabinets.

For the low kitchen cabinets, a smoky light blue shade is chosen and they are decorated with two delicate laths.

The highlight of the kitchen is a spacious island made of ironwork and inside it are handmade Moroccan mosaic tiles.

The island has a wide stove, on one side extra deep cabinets, and on the other a spacious seating area.

All the window profiles in the house have been replaced with minimalist aluminum in a hamra-rust shade that gives delicate lines to the house and allows for a harmonious visual glide to the spacious balcony.

In the central space, three shades of walls were harmoniously combined - the general shade of the house to which a honey-mustard shade was added to create a cube that enters the kitchen and continues into the rooms and in the living room a neutral taupe shade - starting from the living room and continuing towards the kitchen.

The combination created continuity from the outside to the kitchen and the depths of the home.

For the flooring, Gens chose rectangular tiles to emphasize the length of the space and she continued with the same flooring outside but in smaller sizes.

This created continuity alongside a distinct feeling between inside and out.

The terrace is equipped with an outdoor kitchen with a seating bar and there is also a dining table surrounded by airy green iron chairs.

Alongside these also stands an outdoor shower, which was the landlord's dream.

At the entrance to the house was a handmade walnut chest of drawers with an amorphous mirror without a frame.

The front door is smooth but prominent in the choice of the unconventional shade - burgundy.

In the dining area was placed a table in his oak shades and rattan chairs were matched.

The living room wall, which was divided into small niches and also had a front door to one of the rooms, was turned into a continuous wall by Gens, on which a long and airy library was installed.

The entrance to the room was canceled, and in its place Gens created a separate intimate entrance to the study, which remained open and faced the balcony.

The living room combines various pieces of furniture that create an eclectic look - a delicate burgundy sofa, along with ethnic tables with handmade panels, the carpet that bridges the walls and flooring and an airy bench, also handmade, that does not block the green from the balcony and provides additional seating.

The couple sought to create a distinct and intimate space here.

The master bedroom and small walk-in closet opened into one spacious space, the bed was relocated and a spacious access to large closets was planned and a long dresser decorated with handmade iron handles from Morocco.

The couple wanted to create a distinct and intimate space, so the whole room was painted in a deep blue shade and covered with natural oak parquet, while in the bathroom a floor was installed decorated with black and white colored slate tiles.

Two additional bedrooms serve as a study and a guest room for girls and the grandson of the frequent visitors.

There is also a guest bathroom, whose floor is decorated with tiles illustrated with delicate flowers and a niche cabinet with a generous storage space has been installed.

Since the room is north with a small window and not much natural light, its walls are painted in a light mustard hue alongside light blue-gray cabinets.

One of the girls' bedroom was converted into a study.

It had a planning challenge as it is a particularly long and narrow space.

Gens took advantage of the space and placed the desk in the center of the room along its entire length, thus creating a very spacious and impressive table 3 meters long that allows the landlady to sit in front of the view and have the opportunity to receive students.

Next to them was designed a large library painted in dark green and decorated with leaf-shaped handles made by hand in Morocco.
