According to a media report, Western secret commandos are supporting the Ukrainian military.

Among other things, they train Ukrainian soldiers and pass on important information.

New York/Kyiv – NATO has repeatedly emphasized that no soldiers are being sent to Ukraine.

According to a report in the

New York Times

, however, secret commandos of western supporter states are said to be active in Ukraine.

A network of military-trained units and secret services had formed.

These are intended to help the Ukrainian military in obtaining information, weapons and training military troops.

A total of 20 states are involved.

For example, German soldiers trained Ukrainian colleagues on weapons that are then to be delivered to Ukraine.

At the artillery school in Idar-Oberstein in Rhineland-Palatinate, for example, Ukrainian soldiers were trained on the Panzerhaubitze 2000 by the Bundeswehr.

Great Britain also trained Ukrainian soldiers, partly in Poland.

Help from NATO: CIA agents in Kyiv

The article also reports on an American task force called "Grey Wolf", which advises the Ukrainian Air Force on tactical and technical issues in Ramstein.

Ukrainian soldiers are not only supported in the use of weapons and their strategic deployment.

Members of the US special unit "Green Berets" are said to have given first aid courses to Ukrainian soldiers in Germany.

According to the New York Times

, secret services are also said to be

extensively active in the Ukraine war.

For example, CIA operatives would operate primarily in the capital, Kyiv, and play a major role in the exchange of classified information between the US and Ukraine.

"At the same time, a few dozen commandos from other NATO countries, including Britain, France, Canada and Lithuania, were also working in Ukraine," the

New York Times

article reads.

The authors rely on information from employees of the Biden administration.

War in Ukraine: Western commandos provide training and advice

The commands would further assist in training and advising the Ukrainian military.

They should also advise Ukraine on logistics issues and, for example, help to transport weapons from the allies to the front.

In May, US Army Secretary of State Christine E. Wormuth said at an Atlantic Council event, "We're trying to help move the various shipments of weapons."

According to the New York Times

, there are no commands at the front

, but they operate in other parts of the country and communicate from there via encrypted channels.

US Rep. Jason Crow stressed

the importance of Western support to the

New York Times .

“Knowing who to deal with in chaotic battlefield situations and who to take weapons to was crucial.

Without those relationships, it would have taken much longer."
