The United Nations accuses Israel of being responsible for the death of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was shot in the head on May 11 in Jenin.
The reporter, well known in the Arab world, covered the operations carried out by IDF units in this city in the northern West Bank which is home to many Palestinian armed groups.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights claims that she was the victim of Israeli fire, a conclusion deemed
"unfounded"
by Israel, which refutes the thesis of a deliberate shooting.
