An indictment was filed yesterday (Sunday) against Musa Abu Rakik, a 43-year-old prisoner, for possession of drugs and smuggling them to prison.
This, after he allegedly initiated his arrest while making himself a burglar in a car in Be'er Sheva.
According to the indictment, during March 2022, Abu Rakik was released as an alternative to detention at a hostel in Haifa, but later left the place without a permit, assuming that he would be arrested for violating the conditions of his release and sent to prison.
"Near his departure from the hostel, a decision was made in the defendant's heart to inject dangerous drug units into his body - such as buprenorphine and hashish, in order to inject them into the walls of the prison," the indictment reads.

The IPS received intelligence that he planned to arrest him on purpose in order to smuggle drugs into the prison and trade them. About three months later, on June 14, Abu Rakik arrived in the city of Be'er Sheva, where he broke into a car. During a search of the suspect, a suspicious substance such as money was found in his pocket.

He was later brought to the hearing to extend his detention and upon his return to prison he ejected another hundred capsules containing a dangerous drug of the buprenorphine type.
In total, Abu Rakik tried to inject 185 capsules with drugs into the prison, valued at tens of thousands of shekels.
