A teenager tried in Reims for having stabbed a comrade a year ago

A teenager, 14 years old at the time of the facts, is tried from Wednesday June 29 by the Reims juvenile court for the murder in June 2021 of Eloi-An, a schoolboy of the same age, stabbed in the temple after a disagreement.

Opposed by a dispute for several days, the two college students educated at Saint-Joseph school met at the end of class, shortly after noon, to fight in a relatively discreet street in the center of Reims.

The defendant, who was holding an already unfolded knife in his gloved hand, had jumped on Eloi-An, punching him and chaining him by stabbing him in the temple.

The victim, hospitalized in Reims, died twelve weeks later, on August 21, without having regained consciousness.

The scene of a few seconds, of extreme violence, was filmed by the camera of a nearby department store but also by a schoolgirl who came to witness the confrontation with a small group of students.

A rap clip created and posted on Instagram by the accused seems to be at the origin of the tension between the two young people.
