At least that's not the only opinion of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte (77), who likes to have smuggled luxury cars scrapped by the excavator to attract public attention.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has now organized a similar campaign – but not with expensive sports cars, but with comparatively cheap motorcycles.
These so-called "dirt bikes" are lightweight enduro bikes that are intended exclusively for off-road racing and are not street legal.
Which doesn't stop many of their owners from speeding through cities like New York.
Fast, loud, with dubious emission behavior and dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists, since they also use their paths.

Now a number of confiscated rattle machines, illegal quads and a few other bikes came under the bulldozer.
"You can no longer terrorize the citizens," said the new New York Mayor Eric Adams (61), before the 92 vehicles in Brooklyn were flattened in front of a large audience.
The spectacular scrap show can be seen in the video above.
The action is part of a summer plan with which the city wants to create order for motorcycles - so more scrap shows are conceivable.
"New Yorkers who live and work in our communities are telling us loud and clear: Remove these motorcycles from our neighborhoods," Adams said.

The NYPD has now at least started energetically with this.
It remains to be seen whether the bulldozing, which is intended to act as a deterrent, will achieve anything.
To save the honor of motorcyclists, it should also be mentioned that most of them are considerate on the road and many of them help people with good deeds.
