Deadly start to summer on the roads of Hauts-de-Seine where two female scooter riders lost their lives in less than 24 hours.
The 34-year-old woman victim of a heavy fall, on the night of Thursday to Friday, in Chaville, succumbed to her serious injuries a few hours after her admission to Beaujon hospital, in Clichy.
The latter had been transported there, victim of a severe head trauma after an accident which occurred around one o'clock in the morning, rue des Petits-bois, in a residential area bordering the forest of Fausses-Reposes.
For reasons still undetermined, the young woman, who seemed to be riding without a helmet, lost control of her scooter before falling headfirst onto the asphalt.
Taken care of by the firefighters then the doctors of the Samu, she had been transported to the hospital in absolute emergency in a state considered very worrying at the time.
“You have to be equipped and protected”
A few hours earlier, another young woman had also lost her life after a scooter accident, this time in Rueil-Malmaison.
The drama was tied shortly before 9 a.m. on the avenue de Colmar, an axis which crosses the north of the commune of Rueil-Malmaison to Nanterre.
While riding in the lane reserved for cyclists, the 18-year-old victim allegedly approached a bus from the right and found himself in his blind spot.
The young woman then hit the back of the bus while it was performing a manoeuvre.
She was killed instantly.
According to initial findings, the victim was indeed wearing a protective helmet, but she also had music headphones in her ears.
“You have to be equipped and protected, with a helmet or the equipment adapted to your mode of transport, we reminded the side of the BSPP after the first accident.
One must remain aware of one's surroundings.
This vigilance involves the absence of headphones, mobile phones, etc.
And this is valid for everyone without exception.
