Passers-by made a gruesome find in a playground: the remains of a dismembered house cat.

The shocked residents are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Vaterstetten – The cruelty of the deed can hardly be put into words: A few days ago, a house cat was dismembered alive in Vaterstetten (Ebersberg district) and its remains were then distributed on a playground.

Passers-by found the animal's extremities on the premises late Saturday afternoon (June 25).

Shortly before, the owner had seen her pet roaming around.

As the police reported to Poing, the animal torturer distributed the remains of his victim all over the Vaterstetten adventure playground.

So the cat's head lay on the swing while the body was thrown in the grass in the middle of the site.

A paw was discovered immediately next to the carcass, the other three paws and the animal's tail have not yet been found.

The wounds on the cat's remains suggest that the animal was still alive when its limbs were cut off.

That's what a volunteer contact person for found cats said to the Poinger officials.

The perpetrator probably first hit the cat's head and then severed it with a sharp object.

It is very likely that the murder weapon was an axe.

Local residents found a bloody tool near the crime scene on Monday (June 27).

The police seized the weapon and are now examining it for fingerprints and DNA traces of the perpetrator.

An analysis was also initiated.

This is to clarify where the blood on the blade comes from.

The animal protection association Landkreis Ebersberg eV and the local residents also want to find the culprit.

The animal protection association has offered a reward of 1,000 euros for information that leads to the solution of the case.

Thanks to the promises of private individuals, the bounty has now even increased again - to a total of 2250 euros.

Local residents and the animal protection association are offering a high bounty on "animal and child haters".

In addition to a further 1000 euros that have been promised to the animal protection association, 250 euros will come from a local residents' collective to which the Petra Mackh family belongs.

"We really want this perpetrator and child hater to be caught," she says, finding clear words about the act: "It's beyond any psychological normality."
