Members of the Legislative Council of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong today (27th) had a video appointment with Professor Lo Chongmao, the incoming Director of Medical and Health Bureau, to exchange views on anti-epidemic work.

The DAB proposed the "Station in Hong Kong" plan, hoping to create favorable conditions for facilitating customs clearance by optimizing the quarantine arrangements for Hong Kong citizens to travel to the Mainland, and learned that the next government will actively study the party's proposal.

DAB members Ge Peifan, Chen Hengpin, Chen Yong, Liang Xi and others participated in the video conference.

The DAB pointed out that due to the consideration of epidemic prevention, Hong Kong citizens currently need to book a "Healthy Station" or a gold bus ticket in the mainland before going to the mainland (mainly Shenzhen and Zhuhai). Only a small number of citizens can successfully make an appointment to go to the mainland every day, and those who need to return to their hometowns are even more anxious.

In order to cater for the needs of Hong Kong citizens, at the same time reduce the burden of quarantine facilities in the Mainland and reduce the risk of cross-border transmission, a member of the DAB introduced the latest initiative to Lo Chongmao, hoping that the new government can study and follow up on the establishment of "in-Hong Kong post stations" in Hong Kong , that is, under the premise that the local epidemic situation is basically under control and the accommodation capacity of the community isolation facilities allows, some suitable community isolation facilities will be allocated for the purpose of closed-loop quarantine for Hong Kong citizens who intend to go to the Mainland, and after completing the quarantine, they can pass through the closed-loop channel Go directly to the Mainland, and if the citizens are diagnosed during the quarantine period, they will be transferred to local medical units for follow-up treatment.

The DAB's proposed "post station in Hong Kong" has several indicators, including that the station should adopt nucleic acid testing standards that meet the national requirements; the staff must be subject to closed-loop management; the Mainland health and health commission should participate in management and supervision.
