More than 1,000 female soldiers from various IDF units have filed a lawsuit demanding that the women's uniforms be changed, claiming that they are uncomfortable, causing urinary tract infections and not flattering.

"On the day of enlistment, we were required to sign girls' uniforms, different from the usual ones signed by all the boys in the IDF and the fighters," read the receipt.

Women's and boys' uniforms include a two-pocket shirt, high-waisted tight-fitting T-shirts with two large pockets and a small pocket, and infantry shoes, they added.

According to the complainants, "despite the attempts made to improve the uniform in the new sector - they are still with the same problems, except for a sector that has been raised insignificantly."

They added: "The few pockets are significantly smaller than those in the boys' uniforms and their contents are poor. Boys are entitled to comfortable and useful pockets. Girls, on the other hand - no. Do girls not need space to store a strap notebook, telephone, wallet, keys or book?".

The IDF spokesman said: "As part of the desire to improve the service experience of IDF servicemen, and in light of the dissatisfaction that arose among many servicemen, it was decided to change the model of women's trousers to a high cut. Staff work that includes examining types of fabrics and cuts, in collaboration with leading professionals in the field of clothing design, personnel from the Personnel Division, and in combination with a broad focus group of women from the various IDF units.
