The municipality of Finsing has issued no stopping zones in a number of streets.

In addition, the parking time at the town hall and church is limited.

Finsing

- streets full of parked cars in residential areas, long-term parkers on municipal areas: Finsing tackles the parking lot problems in the municipal area.

For example, no-parking zones have been decided on for a number of streets, and vehicles will no longer be allowed to park indefinitely in the parking lots at the town hall and around the church in Finsing.

“This is a topic that has been with us for years.

We keep getting complaints about parking behavior," explained Mayor Max Kressirer (WGE) at the beginning of the deliberations on traffic regulations in stationary traffic, which had previously been discussed by the Transport, Environment and Energy Committee.

In total, there were four areas in the Neufinsing district, in which zones with restricted stopping restrictions are now being set up.

Parking is only permitted in marked areas.

They want to take action against the parking of mobile homes, for example, and at the same time organize parking so that you no longer have to drive in snakes through the settlements.

To this end, a number of parking spaces will be re-marked, and traffic signs at the entrances to the residential areas will indicate the regulations.

Specifically, it is about the areas of Föhrenweg, Kiefernweg, Tannenweg, Eibenweg and Am Bürgel, Rennstattweg, Traberweg and Rappenweg, Birkenstraße, Lindenweg, Ahornweg, Erlenweg, Buchenweg, Eichenring and Weidenweg as well as Kastanienweg, Ulmenring and Pfarrpfründe.

There was still a need for discussion regarding the latter, which is why the parking plan in this area should be revised again.

Mayor Kressirer explained that the parking behavior had been documented over a long period of time: "We have dealt with the subject very intensively." Bernhard Faschinger (independent) added that the plans are based on complex traffic and parking space counts as well as statistics that the building authority compiles "That's how we came up with the total and tried to cover everything."

There should also be more parking spaces in the area of the town houses, the sports center, the cemetery and the commercial area, said Kressirer - whether private or public is still being examined.

There are already public parking spaces at the town hall.

Here, however, it was criticized that many people used these areas free of charge, that a parking space was worth between 15,000 and 20,000 euros, and that every citizen should park on their own land.

Therefore, it was decided to limit the parking time in the town hall car park to four hours with a parking disc in the future.

Exceptions are administrative employees who receive a special pass.

Appropriate signs will be posted at both entrances.

The southern parking spaces on the Rathauswiese are designated as private parking spaces - illegally parked vehicles will then be towed away.

"Who can park there?

Would it be possible to rent parking spaces there?” Gertrud Eichinger (SPD) asked.

According to Kressirer, that's the plan.

He added that the school car park had already been signposted as a private car park.

As reported, there were problems with third-party parkers, among other things because of a mobile home rental.

Two or three illegally parked vehicles have already been towed away.

Parking is also limited at the St. Georg Church in Finsing, on St.-Quirin-Weg and on St.-Georg-Weg.

Kressirer spoke of a "never ending story": There are always complaints that there are not enough parking spaces available at church services.

In the future, eight signs will indicate that you can only park for a maximum of two hours with a parking disc.

This time should be enough, said Kressirer when Regina Hasselbeck (WGE) considered whether two hours might not be too little for larger funerals.
