The Axioma, the yacht owned by the Russian oligarch Dimitri Pumpianski, has been anchored in Gibraltar for a little over three months.
The ship was detained as part of the sanctions imposed on Russia's financial elite.
According to reports, Gibraltar now wants to auction the yacht.
The Supreme Court of the British Overseas Territory decided according to the "Gibraltar Chronicle" and the French broadcaster BMFTV.
The ship is said to change hands at an auction.
The "Axioma" is not the only oligarch ship that has been stranded since the beginning of the Ukraine war.
The Scheherazade is docked in the Italian port of Carrara, the Crescent in Tarragona, Spain, and other yachts are tied up in the Maldives, in Hamburg or in Dubai.
Due to the sanctions, the ships cannot actually be sold.

The American bank JPMorgan had therefore loaned the owner Dimitri Pumpianski 22 million US dollars.
JP Morgan argues the inclusion of the oligarch on the list of Russian figures affected by British sanctions is a breach of the loan agreement.
Due to the sanctions against him, Pumpianski cannot repay the money - the bank won the right to sell the ship to cover the loan by court order.
As a result, Gibraltar's Supreme Court was able to arrest the yacht in the spring.

The ship is 73 meters long, has two large pools and a cinema.

Dimitri Pumpianski is the owner of TMK, a world leader in oil and gas pipelines.
His private fortune is estimated at around 2.2 billion US dollars.
