Giora Balter, a 52-year-old Israeli, was killed yesterday (Sunday) in a motorcycle accident during a family vacation in Thailand, where he celebrated with his children their leave of absence from the army.

"The heart is exploding, can not believe it happened to us too," his mother wrote in a Facebook post.



As far as is known, Balter was seriously injured in the head in an accident, and was evacuated by boat from Copenhagen to Kosomoy, but did not receive medical treatment, and doctors were forced to determine his death.

"We do not know much about the circumstances," he told Walla!

His father-in-law, Tzivi Springer.

"This is a terrible tragedy. He was a wonderful, rare, kind-hearted man and loved by all who knew him. We received this job news this morning with great pain. "He was so happy."

"We were friends from age zero, a high school elementary school," she told Walla!

Gilit Levy, "was a charming and humble man. A quiet man. The ear was always attentive. We all do not digest. It is a great loss for family and friends. We are waiting for his wife and children to come to Israel to set a date for the funeral."



Balter, who began his professional career as a social worker, was a clinical psychotherapist who in recent years has been heavily involved in treating men, and has led groups of bereaved siblings on behalf of the Department of Defense.

He was born and raised in Netanya, belongs to the basic group of the settlement of Shimshit in the north, which was designed by his father-in-law Tzivi Springer, and lived in Kfar Saba, where he will be buried.

The date of his funeral has not yet been announced.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Israelis Abroad and the Ambassador to Bangkok are familiar with the incident and are assisting in the transfer of the body to Israel.
