They were bid farewell in a festive and friendly manner with many good wishes.

Holzkirchen – 43 young men and women from the private high school in Holzkirchen are starting a new chapter in their lives.

They were bid farewell on Friday and Saturday with their high school diplomas and many good wishes in the presence of their parents and siblings, both solemnly and amicably.

The two four-hour events in the bright auditorium of the new building were crowned by a premiere: the very first performances by the new school band.

The program included speeches by the headmasters Peter Globocnik and Christian Lekebusch, speeches by the high school graduates, the presentation of certificates with individual appreciation and "last greetings from the graduates".

During the breaks, the eleventh graders provided drinks and a chic finger food buffet.

"There are many paths to happiness," Christian Lekebusch announced the motto of his speech.

“One is: Stop whining!” Instead, he asked his ex-sheep to look at the paths to their future and critically dealt with forecasts for the development of artificial intelligence and the misjudgments of future developments.

There are safe jobs like physicist, doctor or teacher and unsafe ones like supermarket cashier and taxi driver.

Professional knowledge is becoming more and more specialized.

School can no longer do that.

However, she offers a strong social network with good friends - which makes happier than material things.

"Listen deeply and honestly to yourself, consider your claims and whether they are compatible with reality so that you can be happy in your job."

The next day, Peter Globocnik dealt with the many “characters” who had to pull together among themselves and with their teachers in his unusually heterogeneous Abitur class.

His goals were to convey humility and gratitude, in addition to commitment to what is personally important to you.

In order to achieve this, he suggested a personal "bookkeeping" to reflect on life, thoughts and plans.

The book gift from the school management, “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, went well with both speeches, with the conclusion: Life is always there to help those who believe in their dreams and are ready to make them come true.

Leona Dauelsberg and Sebastian Geuer on Friday, as well as Clara Bannies and Olivia Richter on Saturday, looked back on their school days and the difficulties they had to overcome due to Corona, on shared setbacks and beautiful experiences.

It was always clear that everything had promoted cohesion in the warm, friendly atmosphere of the all-day school.

Class teacher Daniel Wolf and his colleague Marianna Lazaridou had thought about having the oracle of Delphi accompany them when the certificate was handed over to 12b: There was an individual, mysterious and humorous saying of the Pythia for everyone.

Jörg Meister and Hanne Goertzen introduced the personalities of the 12a in a dialogue rich in anecdotes.

The graduates did not use their “last greetings” to settle accounts, but to cheerfully thank their teachers with flowers and gifts for a lively, sometimes even entertaining and almost always interesting lesson – with a number of hugs as a sign of the familiar relationship with the teaching staff .
