Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, discussed today with the head of the Iranian Public Authority for Radio and Television, Dr. Peyman Jabali, and the accompanying delegation, ways to enhance and develop media cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister of Information stressed the importance of bilateral strategic relations and the necessity of joint coordination in confronting false news and media campaigns that target societies by distorting facts and reversing concepts.
Minister Al-Hallaq indicated that the Syrian national media, with the support of friends, was able to confront the malicious media campaigns against Syria, its stances and constants, and clarify the facts in light of the use of the latest psychological impact theories.
In turn, Dr. Jabali affirmed the strength of relations between the two countries, pointing to his country's continued support for Syria and its condemnation of any aggression on its lands.
Jabali pointed out that the Syrian media presented the martyrs as well as the media of the axis of resistance and stood against the toxic propaganda of the enemies and was able to thwart the conspiracy and the ongoing media war against his country.
Jabali said: The resistance front today is a cohesive front and Syria is its heart, adding that Syria has achieved victory thanks to the resistance of its people and army and has prevented the enemy from achieving any of its goals.
The Iranian media delegation is visiting Damascus to hold talks focusing on cooperation between the General Authority for Radio and Television and the Iranian Public Authority for Radio and Television, in addition to discussing ways of cooperation with other Syrian media.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Information Ahmed Dawa, a number of directors of media institutions, and the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Mahdi Sobhani.
