As July 1 is approaching, President Xi Jinping will attend the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return and the inauguration of the sixth government, but officials have not stated whether he will come to Hong Kong in person.

Tian Beichen, a representative of the Hong Kong People's Congress and a member of the Legislative Council of the Real Politics Roundtable, expects that Xi Jinping will "90%" come to Hong Kong by high-speed rail.

Tian Beichen pointed out that according to the current information, Xi Jinping has a 99% chance of coming to Hong Kong by high-speed rail. "As far as I know, the high-speed rail station is on guard, and the airport has not been notified at all, so I believe that President Xi will not come to Hong Kong by plane."

He believes that from the perspective of epidemic prevention and safety, even if Xi Jinping attends the two-day event in a row, he can stay overnight in Shenzhen or Guangzhou without having to stay overnight in Hong Kong. It is very convenient to travel between the two places with current transportation.

In addition, Tan Yaozong, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said in response to the media today that he has received a preliminary notice that there will be a celebration of the handover in the morning of July 1, and there will be another performance at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom in the evening.

When asked if he was worried about the impact of the epidemic on the arrangement of activities, he pointed out that the SAR government has plans and considerations, and hopes that the epidemic will be well controlled and safety measures will be adequate and more.

As for whether Xi Jinping will come to Hong Kong in person, Tan pointed out that Xinhua News Agency has announced that Xi Jinping will attend the event.
