Opinion | Karam, Lapid will not dare to move without permission from Baidan | Israel Today

President Biden's administration vis-à-vis a prime minister in the form of Benjamin Netanyahu means confrontation on one level or another.

That could not be the case.

President Biden will pay a visit in the coming weeks, and in honor of the occasion, a prime minister will be replaced in Israel.

It is better to skip the political-sentimental part of the media man that someone once predicted would be prime minister and ten years after he jumped into the political swamp he becomes prime minister.

The story is the American mobilization in favor of Yair Lapid's election campaign.

Politically, politically and security-wise, the story is the Americans: President Biden's administration versus a prime minister in the form of Benjamin Netanyahu means confrontation on one level or another.

In contrast, with the Lapid-Bennett government, this means full subordination to the US administration.

A Lapid-led government, regardless of the new prime minister's deliberations on the Iranian issue and the nuclear deal, means that Israel will do nothing against the will of the United States.

As far as Israel is concerned, its status in the eyes of Arab countries, the so-called members of the coalition against Iran, is declining, and they will certainly not take it seriously in the next four months until the elections.

The situation may be worse if the anti-Likud and anti-national coalitions succeed in regrouping fragmented governments.

But Yair Lapid, despite being the branch manager of the Democratic Party in Israel, will not be able to initiate any significant move in the Palestinian field.

There is no substitute for Bibi's winning combination, which is a package of political power with pragmatism, a willingness to pursue an independent policy with the Americans and gain the trust of the Arabs.

Like the Negev summit, which was the stage for the presentation of the new guy in the neighborhood on the standard of an international statesman, so was the meeting with an American president.

The goal of the Americans and the left is to weaken the solid national bloc, to prevent rule from the Likud and Netanyahu.

The preferred way is the outgoing government, led by Naftali Bennett.

Bennett as prime minister splits the national bloc and weakens the leadership that remains devoid of a solid public political base.

When Bennett leaves, Torch remains, and the government becomes a left-wing government.

But this is a left-wing government without a foundation, one that can not achieve political goals but mainly cause damage on issues of values, religion and state.

There is a connection between the rise of Yair Lapid as an ally of the American administration, and a reality in which the Americans completely lose the trust of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

At the same time as the security conference in Jeddah, talks on a nuclear deal between the United States and Iran are expected to begin in Qatar.

It will be difficult for the Saudis to give Baidan what he wants.

All in all, the change of prime minister, in the view of ministers like Nachman Shai, is related to the personal dimension of Lapid and Bennett relations and issues of political morality.

Levant ran out of gas.

Lapid gave him the initials, so Bennett hands him the keys at least for a period.

This is not a time-out period;

This is six months until the election, plus weeks of assembly.

The public will be able to judge.
