Speech of the kind that journalist Gadi Sukenik spoke on television yesterday is a kind of gift • Why a gift? Because they bother to remind us that the debate is still the same debate over the arrogant and racist "flatterers of the tombs and mezuzahs"

"Every hour a kiss, every two hours a hug," sang Hava Alberstein.

In the space of public discourse and in the political arena, a similar dynamic exists: every year a gift, every two months an expression.

Speech of the kind that journalist Gadi Sukenik spoke on television yesterday is a kind of gift, and unfortunately a gift that is received quite continuously and with a frequency of once every few months.

If this had not happened by itself, right-wingers should have cared to invent it.

Why a gift?

So that it is possible to wave a statement and attack with it?

God forbid.

In this respect, it was good that it was not said, of course, but in general it is difficult for me to write about Gadi Sukenik, who is my friend and one of the most honest people in the media.

These statements, precisely in this structure of theirs, are a gift because they take care to remind us of the balance of power.

They bother to remind us that the debate is still the same, and most importantly - through the developed Israeli associative system, they explain the arena to us.

Anyone who thinks that "Likud Knesset members are less intelligent than Yesh Atid's Knesset members" is no different from "the flatters of the tombs and the mezuzah weapons" and does not know what he is talking about, and whoever does not connect the two to one statement does injustice.

"The Chachachim are in a wolf fortress," one man once said, and the whole crowd cheered.

Remember?

Pretty.

This is exactly the same statement, just in different words.

And what is problematic is not the very statement she makes, nor is it that she passes by in her head.

People sometimes think hateful thoughts about individuals or the public, which is not such a big sin.

Even if he runs away from them sometimes, apologize and that's fine.

The great folly is in the political conception that these statements betray.

Their subtext, beyond being completely false (Likud MKs, as a group and as individuals, more intelligent than Yesh Atid - not that it matters, but important to note), condescending and sometimes racist, it completely perpetuates the scribbled narrative that has accompanied the center-left tribes for 45 years. Year, and is that a group of not-so-nice rioters managed to seize power and everything must be done to restore order, return to a sane and normal life and repair the accident.

Once every few years this camp gathers in front of the sample screens and discovers, over and over again, that the mistake has not been corrected and that the injustice continues to occur, and he is going crazy.

If he had not once tried to understand and internalize that there is a people here with different tribes and opinions and for several decades the other opinion, of the other camp, constitutes a majority, and the state, what to do, changes face slowly - the blood between the hawks was not so bad, and there was no pleasant man like a goat. Sukenik makes the wrong, illegitimate and irrelevant comparison he made.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
