Penzberg – The Penzberg town festival was a complete success.
The only downside: the long night of shopping fell victim to the rain.
"It was very, very successful": Thomas Sendl, Head of the City Hall Department of Culture, Economy and Communication, was enthusiastic about the three-day spectacle on Monday.
The start of the city festival on Friday (June 24) got off to a bad start.
The night of shopping, including street music and activities by business people, was “largely canceled” due to the rain, according to Sendl.
A total of around 1000 visitors were estimated, as well as around 400 listeners to the live music on the town square.
In addition, a special open-air exhibition by local artists and contributors to the Roche art group opened in the evening: In the coming weeks, "Fördern.Research.Progress" will show how the city has changed over the past 50 years.
The eight steles can be found on Bahnhofstrasse and Rathausplatz.

"Kaiserwetter" on Saturday
But on Saturday (June 265th) there was "imperial weather", enthuses Sendl.
Penzberg was able to present itself in the best light to the guests from its five partner cities.
"Very high-ranking delegations," says Sendl happily, had come for the three days of celebration.
In the evening at the rock night, the town square trembled.
Around 3000 visitors listened to the three bands.
Karlstrasse and Rathausplatz were also populated.
"There was a great atmosphere," reports Sendl.
Previously, citizens had actively participated in the workshop in the design of the new event room in the old waiting room of the train station.

Joint prayer with a message
On Sunday (June 26), on the other hand, the common prayer on the Berghalde was contemplative.
The Catholic pastor Bernhard Holz, the retired Protestant dean Martin Steinbach and Imam Benjamin Idriz celebrated the service at the Barbara chapel.
Central message: It is a task for the future to preserve the colorful coexistence in Penzberg.
The worthy conclusion in the evening was the opening of the new citizens' station with the converted waiting room as the "heart" for use by clubs and institutions.
At the end of the city festival, the new public station with the event room was opened.
In addition, the band “Konnexion Balkon” played.

Roche loses city bet and donates
Two institutions were happy at the city festival: They benefited from a donation from Roche.
The co-organizer lost his city bet on Saturday evening – and didn't bring 100 people together on the town square, all Penzbergers, 50 employed by the group and 50 their family members.
There were 7,500 euros each for the municipal music school and its new grand piano and for the Penzberger Tafel.
In the town hall, the head of the cultural department, Sendl, symbolically takes off his hat to the commitment of everyone involved in the city festival, including the building yard: "They did an excellent job."
