The Big Issue

Prince William joined the street vendors in memory of his mother Princess Diana for his 40th birthday.

In an interview, he revealed that he would like to be younger again.

London – In the run-up to his 40th birthday on June 21, Prince William gave free rein to his late mother, Princess Diana (36, † 1997).

He decided to follow her "inimitable style".

He decided to street sell Big Issue, a major homeless newspaper.

Prince William admits after his 40th birthday: "I would like to be 21 again"

By the time 32 copies had been distributed by street vendor Dave Martin, many a conversation with passers-by ensued.

Amid taunts about his age, the prince bluntly admitted, "I'd like to be 21 again, Dave.

The big four zero.

I'm getting a bit old now."

Considering that William, at 40, is older than his mother ever was at 36, explains the need to be close to her in action.

Princess Diana was progressive and felt her sons should be aware of how privileged their lives are.

From an early age, she took the boys to The Passage, a Catholic charity for the homeless near Westminster Cathedral.

Prince William spoke to the organization's CEO, Mick Clarke, about it.

Even as a boy, Prince William visited the homeless with Princess Diana

“Ever since I came here [to The Passage] with my mom, homelessness has been an issue I want to fight for.

I've done everything in my power to raise awareness of the homeless and I want to do a lot more," said the prince, who would have made his mother very proud.

Of course, Prince William knows that his action can draw attention to the matter, but not alleviate it.

Still, he exudes optimism and sounds almost like the king he's about to be: "While we can't fix everything at once, I refuse to believe that homelessness is an irrevocable fact," he says.

"It's a problem that can be solved."
