This contest is configured as the largest canine event in the world, which is why
Funfair Foxhouse
obtains the most important award related to purebred dogs.
To reach the final, the contestants have had to overcome various tests of morphology, sociability, obstacles, agility and obedience, among others.

The classification until winning the highest prize, furthermore, depends on other criteria, which these specimens have also had to demonstrate: first, being the best of each breed by sex;
then in a generic way (males and females), to finally prevail over the winners by groups in the grand final.
Second place went to an English
bulldog
named
Amen Ra Palo Seco
and bronze to a
miniature wire-haired
dachshund , dubbed
Bottom Shaker the Greatest Picture
.
âWhen a judge judges a dog, he is guided by the breed standard, which tells us about his physical characteristics, his temperament and his health;
but also the sum of characteristics that differentiate one breed from another, traits that are transmitted from generation to generationâ, explains Judge Carmen Navarro, a member of the jury who has chosen the winners.

The call for the World Dog Show has been held for half a century in different world capitals, with Madrid being the chosen venue on this occasion.
It is the third time that this event is held in Spain after the editions of 1983, also in the Spanish capital, and Valencia, in 1992.
All three have had the presence of Queen SofĂa, a declared lover of animals.
The emeritus attended the start of the fair last Thursday, in addition to taking a tour of the different pavilions, to finish in the so-called ring of honor, where the opening ceremony was held and the best dog in the world was also chosen this Sunday.

This edition of the event in Madrid, which was scheduled for 2020, has been delayed two years due to the pandemic, so in 2022 two world dog shows will coincide: the one recently held in the Spanish capital and another in Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, scheduled for December.
This is why, as an exceptional measure
An unprecedented title has been created in which the champion breed dogs of both contests will compete.
The FCI Dog of the Year 2022 will award one of the winners in Madrid and Rio de Janeiro.
And there's already one finalist up for grabs:
Funfair Foxhouse
, which will face an unsettled rival in December.
