Tragic swimming accident in the NRW outdoor pool – 33-year-old dies in hospital

There was a swimming accident in the Hiltrup outdoor pool on Saturday.

In the Hiltrup outdoor pool in Münster, a bather had to be pulled out of the water and resuscitated on Saturday.

The man died on Monday (June 27).

Münster – In Münster there was a tragic accident in the Hiltruper outdoor pool.

A 33-year-old man died in the intensive care unit of a hospital after a swimming accident on Saturday evening.

According to the city, the man was rescued from the swimming pool on Saturday evening and resuscitated.

A swimmer reported the emergency in the water around 6 p.m.

An employee immediately jumped into the pool and pulled the man out.

Together with other pool staff, a doctor on site and the called rescue service, the man was resuscitated for around 40 minutes, finally taken to a hospital and given intensive care there.

Münster: Hiltruper outdoor pool – bathing continues after a bathing accident

The outdoor pool was cleared shortly after the accident and closed for Saturday evening, as reported by 24RHEIN.

Regular bathing operations are currently continuing.

"It is a tragic accident that leaves us stunned.

My condolences go out to the family of the deceased.

I would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts in trying to save the young man's life," said Mayor Markus Lewe on Monday.

Münster: Pool party in the Hiltrup outdoor pool does not take place

A total of around 1300 guests visited the Hiltruper outdoor pool on this hot summer's day.

The pool staff was staffed with five city employees and support from the DLRG.

The pool staff involved is now being looked after psychologically.

Further investigations into the course of the accident follow.

The pool party announced for this Friday, July 1st, at the Hiltrup outdoor pool will not take place due to the current situation.
