Vladimir Putin's troops continue to bombard Ukraine.

Was the recent attack on Kyiv even a direct response to the G7 summit in Bavaria?

Munich - This weekend showed once again that nobody in Ukraine can feel safe since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

At the beginning of the fifth month of the war, the troops commanded by the Kremlin set their sights on targets in various regions of the neighboring country.

On Saturday, according to the

Unian

news agency, impacts were recorded in the north in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions and in the city of Sarny.

Likewise in the west around Lviv near the border with Poland or around the somewhat more centrally located Khmelznyzkyj.

Putin fires rockets at Ukraine: Kremlin chief not only concentrating on the east

Some of the projectiles are said to have been fired from Belarus, from which the defenders conclude that Vladimir Putin wants to urge his close ally Alexander Lukashenko to enter the war.

In any case, it was an unmistakable sign that the Kremlin ruler is not only concentrating on conquering the Donbass and other regions in eastern Ukraine.

And he doesn't just want to keep the enemy, who in his eyes needs to be denazified, in suspense near the front line.

This continued on Sunday.

For the first time in three weeks, Russian missiles hit the area around Kyiv again.

MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, who spoke on Telegram, counted 14 bullets.

A relatively centrally located residential complex was also hit in the capital itself.

The air defense prevented worse, which was also pointed out by Oleksiy Kuleba, military governor of the Kyiv region, via telegram.

For quite a few observers, a connection is obvious.

MEP Manfred Weber concluded on

: "One has to assume that Putin is flexing his muscles here." The CSU politician also spoke of a "demonstration of power" by the Russian President.

Ex-President and Putin confidante with a clear announcement: USA should “come crawling itself”

There should be no question that Putin is interested in how the leading Western industrial nations position themselves during their meeting and how they want to shape future world politics.

On top of that, he and his supporters are threatened with further sanctions.

Putin and the Ukraine war: Scholz believes the Kremlin boss has a "headache".

During a G7 press conference, Chancellor Olaf Scholz was convinced that the ruler from Moscow would be impressed.

"One can say with certainty that Putin didn't expect this and that it's still giving him a headache," the host praised the solidarity of the G7, EU and NATO states in supporting the invaded Ukraine.

The SPD politician also referred to the latest developments.

The rocket attacks on Kyiv have shown how brutal Putin's war is.

Scholz continued: "This shows that it is right that we stand together and support the Ukrainians in defending their country, their democracy, their freedom of self-determination."

Scholz and his prominent guests can demonstrate this again on Monday.

On the second day of the G7 meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyj will be virtually connected to the group.

The Ukrainian President had once again called for rapid arms deliveries and further sanctions.

Of course, Putin won't like it at all.

What the Ukraine may feel if he once again gives free rein to his destructiveness.

There doesn't seem to be much that the Kremlin boss is afraid of at the moment.
