Violence in the health system:
The Prosecution Division of the Israel Police this morning (Tuesday) filed an indictment against a 24-year-old resident of Tirat Carmel, after threatening a doctor at a health fund in Haifa.
The indictment submitted to the Magistrate's Court in Haifa states that the suspect contacted a doctor, who works at a health fund in the city, and asked her to issue medical documents for him.
The suspect is told that he must make an appointment in order to receive the documents.
As a result, the suspect threatened the doctor and told her, "I will burn you, I will burn the branch."
Tirat Hacarmel police officers who were called to the scene arrested the suspect, and brought him for questioning at the police station in the city.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect even threatened the police officers who arrested him.
The suspect's detention was extended from time to time, and at the end of the investigation, which included collecting evidence and gathering findings, this morning the Israel Police Prosecution Division filed an indictment, as stated, and a request for the suspect's detention until the end of the proceedings.
As you may recall, just two weeks ago, a doctor at the HMO in Be'er Ya'akov was attacked with an iron bar.
The attack is one of many, and last month there was a protest strike in all public hospitals and clinics, against the background of the violent incident in which medical teams in the intensive care unit at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem were attacked.
Six people rioted in the incident and a relative died in the unit.
Police have arrested only one suspect, who has been released under house arrest.
