La Nupes has only one candidate for the presidency of the finance committee: Éric Coquerel, LFI deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis.
Until the last moment, socialists tried to push the candidacy of their deputy for Tarn-et-Garonne, Valérie Rabault, ex-rapporteur of this powerful commission of the Assembly composed of 68 to 73 members.
They knew, however, that the internal balance of power in Nupes was not favorable to them.
Especially since Rabault has never shown any sign of frank tenderness for the Insoumis.
The MP, who will sit on the Economic Affairs Committee, could obtain a vice-presidency of the Assembly on Wednesday.
