Muhammad Casey, a resident of Baqa al-Ghraiba, successfully underwent pacemaker transplant surgery at the age of 107. Casey arrived at the emergency room of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center following extreme fatigue and a slow heartbeat, and after a series of comprehensive tests, doctors diagnosed him with an intra-cardiac transmission disorder.
Casey underwent the transplant and the hospital said "he is feeling well now".
He is hospitalized for observation and follow-up and is expected to be released in the coming days to his home.

In the catheterization room of "Hillel Yaffe" he successfully underwent a pacemaker transplant, after which he was hospitalized for further supervision and follow-up.
Dr. Mark Kazetzker, director of pacemaker service at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, who performed the operation, noted: “The patient was diagnosed with a cardiac conduction disorder that the treatment in this case is by pacemaker implantation to regulate the electrical disturbance.
Despite his extreme age, we decided to perform the operation and the pacemaker was successfully implanted.
Casey is hospitalized for observation and follow-up and is expected to be released in the coming days to his home. "
