Concerts, a laser show, a parade and dolce vita: Bad Wiessee is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a health resort with a program lasting several days from Thursday (June 30).

Bad Wiessee

– From a small farming village on the western shore of Lake Tegernsee to a thriving health resort: the suffix “Bad” has a central meaning for Wiessee.

Exactly 100 years ago, the government of Upper Bavaria approved the renaming.

An anniversary that will be celebrated locally with a program lasting several days.

It starts on Thursday with the salon orchestra and Dolce Vita

It starts on Thursday, June 30th.

After a standing reception for invited guests, "Summer, Sun and Dolce Vita" is the order of the day from 7.30 p.m. on the lakeside promenade: Under this motto, the salon orchestra will play with free admission on the large lakeside festival stage, which is being set up especially for the multi-day anniversary.

Peter Rie, event manager at Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT), speaks of a lot of effort in terms of technology and performance.

"The promenade is well illuminated and has a sound system." Admission is from 6 p.m.

The area around the stage will be fully seated, food, various drinks and a cocktail bar complete the dolce vita feeling.

Big ABBA show on the stage at the lake promenade

There is a public program with a DJ, "chilling music" (Rie), moderation and a wheel of fortune on Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2, from 1 p.m. to around 4 p.m. on the lake shore of Bad Wiessee.

On Friday evening, visitors can look forward to a few catchy tunes at “Waterloo – A Tribute to ABBA”.

The event will also start at 7.30 p.m. and end around midnight.

According to Rie, tickets for 30 euros plus a system fee are still available from the tourist information centers around the lake and from Munich Ticket.

"From Wednesday we will probably also release a partial contingent of tickets for the meadow seats," announces the event manager.

Visitors can sit here on their own picnic blankets and only pay half the ticket price.

Concerts are only canceled if there is a threat of severe weather

On Saturday, the guys from Hoamatbeat will heat things up from 6 p.m., Perlseer & Trovasur will take over from 8 p.m.

Tickets are still available here, they are valid for both bands.

After the musicians' performance, a laser show on a water screen is offered - as a substitute for fireworks, so to speak.

"We want to test this topic," says Rie.

The concerts also take place when it rains, only in the event of imminent storms are they canceled and the ticket buyers get their money back.

By the way: All visitors with a card can use the ring line of the Regionalverkehr Oberbayern (RVO) free of charge on Friday and Saturday.

At the end there is a parade of the clubs and a church service

The festivities conclude on Sunday, July 3rd.

At 9 a.m., a parade with club delegations, municipal councillors, representatives of the other valley municipalities as well as the brass band and the marching band sets off from the town hall in the direction of the lake promenade.

An ecumenical service begins there at 9.30 a.m., followed by a morning pint.

Afterwards there will be brass band music on the lake shore until 3 p.m.

In addition, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. the Wiesseer business people opened their shops as part of a Sunday shopping.
