The inauguration ceremony of the Neuhauser Kindergarten St. Josef in Schliersee's Neuhaus district could hardly have been nicer.
At least that's the opinion of the sponsor representative Alois Winderl: "All in all, it was a totally greasy event."
The construction work for the L-shaped extension and the renovation of the basement, which was damaged by water damage, started in the spring of 2019. However, due to the hillside location of the building, it is at ground level in the east and is used like a normal upper floor.
The budget for this was around 1.9 million euros.
The kindergarten was ready for occupancy in February 2020 and has since offered up to 75 children - divided into three groups - and 15 crèche children enough space to play.
What is particularly successful from Winderl's point of view: the processing with a lot of wood, which "radiates an uncanny warmth".
However, his personal highlight is the design of the open spaces, which would not have been possible in this form without the generous financial support of sponsors.
They had funded the project with around 100,000 euros.
The fact that the inauguration ceremony could only take place now, and therefore quite late, was due to the corona pandemic and the fact that the work in the garden was not yet completed at the time.
In autumn 2021, those responsible for the kindergarten then decided to allow the inauguration to take place in June 2022.
On the one hand, the risk of a lockdown is very low in summer, and on the other hand, after three years, they wanted to “have a really nice party”, as Winderl summarizes.
The celebration began with a service in the Church of St. Josef in Neuhaus, led by Pastor Ilka Huber and Pastor Hans Sinseder.
Then it was off to the new kindergarten, where the parents' council provided food and drink for around 300 to 400 guests, including many municipal council members and Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer.
Another special guest, according to Winderl, was architect Johannes Wegmann.
The planner not only designed the new extension, but also planned the first construction of the kindergarten in 1990.
Many thanks also go to the parents, who, according to Winderl, have done a great job: "I am enthusiastic about their commitment.
With their help, they made the initiation what it was.” A big celebration for the kindergarten family.
